This Underwriter II supports the Healthcare group through underwriting, analysis, and structuring recommendations for Healthcare portfolios. Identifies, gathers, and reviews financial information to determine borrower risk ratings and appropriate loan structuring. Assesses and communicates risks within new and existing Healthcare accounts. Provides service and support for both associates and clients, assisting in customer calls.
The position can be based in New York City OR Buffalo, New York.
Responsibilities
- The Underwriter II's primary role is to support a team of senior underwriters with assessing and approving transactions in the Healthcare Asset Based Lending and Real Estate space which includes senior housing and long-term care facilities.
- The position requires a candidate to have strong analytical skills, who will need to work on several transactions and be able to multi-task.
- Prepare initial financial and business analysis as well as ability to develop due diligence questions.
- Interact with Credit Management, Borrowers, Loan Operations and Closing teams, and collaborate with peers.
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $95,000 to $100,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications
- Required
- Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience in OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in business, finance or accounting
- Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting
- Finance and/or Banking experience
- Skill(s): Completion of a formal credit training program.
- Minimum of 2 or more years of relevant experience in Commercial Real Estate, Accounting and/or Banking, Finance or credit underwriting/portfolio management
- Proficiency in financial modeling and financial statement analysis
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Experience in Asset Based Lending Healthcare Real Estate a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
