About the Role:

The testing analyst will work with the functional lead for the Continuing Medicaid Eligibility Modernization Program to support the implementation of this high-profile New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) initiative. Within the systems development life cycle, the testing analyst will take an active role in the business and technical aspects of testing and validating the design and solution developed to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
  • Monitor debugging process results.
  • Investigate the causes of nonconforming software and train users to implement solutions.
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
  • Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.
  • 50% onsite in Albany, NY.
About you: Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of seven years of experience working on complex projects with two or more years in a leadership role as a testing analyst that includes preparing documentation, reviews, and approvals of test results from key stakeholders using industry standard methods.
  • Minimum of seven years of client-focused quality assurance managing testing across multiple high-profile projects - with complex functional domains - within a matrix organization. Experience includes reporting and presenting to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Minimum of five years of experience developing test plans, test cases, tracking defects and developing automated tests.
  • Minimum of five years of experience with tools such as Jira, Jira-related plug-ins, or Application Lifecycle Management/Quality Center as the defect tracking and test planning tools.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years of experience with configuring automated testing using tools, such as Selenium or Katalon Studio, or related tools.
  • Minimum of three years of experience leading and managing functional test planning and test execution activities with a focus on the health and human services domain.
Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree with coursework in information technology, business or public administration, project management, and/or communications.

The pay range for this position is $79,793.00 to $109,716.00 per year.
