Job Description

Position Summary:

The Director of Assessment and Continuous Quality Improvement plays a pivotal role in elevating the academic excellence and institutional effectiveness of the Katz School. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Academic Programs, the Director is responsible for spearheading the school's ongoing discipline-specific accreditation across multiple programs (e.g, ARC-PA, CCNE, ASHA, ACOTE, ABET) and developing a robust continuous quality improvement (CQI) program.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic and tactical efforts for the school's discipline-specific assessment, accreditation, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Oversee execution and effectiveness of the school's CQI plan, directing the collection, assessment, and triangulation of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Collaborate with senior administrative staff and program directors to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Support academic programs with a variety of assessment and accreditation-related activities, including preparation for cyclical accreditation site visits, self-study processes, and drafting formal reports to accrediting bodies.
  • Maintain expertise in evolving accreditation requirements to ensure compliance is documented and processed in accordance with established timelines and policy; develop and deliver training or briefing materials; provide internal consulting on CQI activities.
  • Create systems to implement controls and reduce inefficiencies, both fiscally and administratively.
  • Identify areas for improvement and support initiatives to enhance institutional effectiveness.
  • Contribute to other projects as needed.

Experience & Educational Background:

Education:

Ph.D., Ed.D., or other advanced degree with a focus in educational assessment, measurement, or a related field preferred with strong experience in statistics, computation, data management for both quantitative and qualitative data. Master's degree considered with significant experience in a university setting.

Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in academic assessment, program evaluation, policy planning and implementation, or institutional effectiveness.
  • Prior experience within health science programs, engineering programs, or with institutional research, program evaluation and accreditation at a college or university.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to evaluate courses and programs via mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) techniques.
  • Success partnering with diverse stakeholders on iterative improvement efforts.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and organization.
  • Ability to navigate complex, fast-paced institution and multiple stakeholders, with poise and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to innovate, think critically, manage change, solve problems, and implement process improvements.

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $125,000
