Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Analyst II - Research.

In this role, the successful candidate will serve as a liaison between Investigators in the Neuroscience Institute (NI) andPsychiatry Department and MCIT. The candidate will work collaboratively with assigned PrincipalInvestigators (PIs) under the primary supervision of MCIT with responsibilities and priorities laid out by
Dr. Paul Glimcher in the NI and Dr. Esther Blessing in Psychiatry, to pre-process and analyze magneticresonance imaging data collected in the respective clinical research studies. The primary locations of theAnalyst will be Department of Psychiatry, 1 Park Avenue, the Healthy Brain Aging Center at 145 East32nd street, and the NI.The Analyst will be responsible for supervising the overall imaging pipeline of each PI, including thepost acquisition storage of imaging data at the 53rd st scanner and transfer to the database of each PI,maintenance of the FlyWheel account and gears, linux machines assigned to the PI, organization of
security and permission necessary for data access, the installation of appropriate software, back-up ofdata to designated servers, and the development and implementation of data pre-processing routines.They will be responsible for the analysis of MR data, including task-based, resting state fMRI, and DKI,
as directed by each PI, and will participate in presenting these data, and writing manuscripts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of Core Systems: Maintain day-to-day operations of lab systems and Linux
    workstations, including but not limited to:
  • Scripting
  • Storage
  • Security
  • Permissions
  • Patching
  • Networking
  • Data Processing
  • Pipeline generation and support
  • High Performance Computing
  • Imaging Database Development and Maintenance: Devise and implement strategies for ensuringthat there are appropriate data storage systems for each research project, under supervision of NYUMCIT in cooperation with the respective PIs. Ensure that these systems adhere to regulatoryguidelines regarding protected health information including de-identification procedures, andsponsor guidelines regarding data sharing policies. Ensure that relevant hardware and software ismaintained and up to date, with NYU MCIT standards. Ensure that the data are backed-up todesignated servers according to plans approved by each PI.
  • Imaging Data Pre-processing and Analysis: Create and operationalize data pre-processing andanalysis pipelines that ensure MR imaging data is anonymized, anatomically registered andsegmented, and denoised according to state of the art best-practice guidelines, and according to theresearch protocols and quality control specifications of each project, agreed upon with each PI. Theywill be responsible for directing research coordinators to develop and maintain standard operating procedure (SOP) manuals that document these pipelines for each project.
  • Reporting and Communication Management: Meet bi-weekly and as needed with each PI to report on progress and any issues that arise with achievement of goals related to the activities described above. Advise research coordinators on preparation of Data Safety Monitoring Committee reports related to progress and adherence to quality control procedures related to imaging procedures and data.
  • Data Management & Integrity: Resolve data queries regarding to imaging data in cooperation with research coordinators.
  • Team Leadership: Establish and maintain positive relationships with study team members, MCIT, internal and external stakeholders, sponsors, and ancillary staff.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify, respond to, and participate in the resolution of potential problems in study operations and participant activities.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in an information technology related field
Five years relevant experience
Effective interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management; must work and communicate effectively with internal and external parties
Effective multi-tasker and problem solver; detail oriented

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $97,589.96 - $162,649.75 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
