Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time Human Resources Assistant to join our fast-paced Corporate HR Department in Orange County, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in HR! We are seeking a target-driven individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage prospective candidates and new employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The HR Assistant will be responsible for our recruiting process on a day-to-day basis and assist with the onboarding process as needed. The recruitment process will require assembling and placing help wanted ads, performing searches for qualified candidates, updating and maintaining our Applicant Tracking System, working with hiring managers to review and screen candidates, setting up interviews, completing reference checks, and making offers in accordance with OFCCP guidelines. The HR Assistant will also assist with our onboarding process, including scheduling and setting up orientations, coordinating safety orientations, coordinating and ensuring the completion of employment paperwork, and assisting new employees as needed beyond their orientation as needed, and all related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Should possess at minimum a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field, preferably with a concentration in HR Management and 0-2 years of related work experience, or any other suitable combination of experience of education, training, or experience is acceptable;
  • Should have an understanding of the fundamentals of recruiting/talent acquisition;
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and strong attention to detail is required;
  • Ability to work in a flexible way that allows for changes in assignments and priorities depending upon identified needs of the department and the Company;
  • Exceptional computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to act as a resource for and work effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within an organization;
  • Able to work well independently as well as part of a team;
  • Good sense and sound judgement in practical matters;
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to perform the essential functions of this position, the candidate must be able to constantly assume a stationary position, and must handle and/or feel documents, materials, and/or equipment to perform necessary tasks, sometimes repetitively. The candidate must be able to occasionally maneuver within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc., and may exert up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally. Constantly, they must be able to receive and convey detailed or important information with others via the Corporate e-mail system, telephone system, and in person.

PAY RANGE
Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.
Pay Range: $19.24 - $24.04 / hour
