Job Description

We are looking to fill the position of Senior Engineer in the CFD Engineering Services Group in our Bellevue, WA office. This position will perform CFD analyses using STAR-CCM+ for a variety of applications in the automotive, aerospace, marine, energy, and other related industries. Job functions will include performing 3D computational grid generation, run and monitoring of the CFD analysis, preparation of technical reports and providing post-project technical customer support. In addition to working in our offices, opportunities will exist for both short term and extended assignments working directly on-site with our clients.

 
 

Qualifications:

 
 
  • MS or PHD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, plus 2 years of related experience
  • College-level coursework in Computational Fluid Dynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Thermodynamics.
  • Experience with Marine related technology, fluid-structure interactions, aeroacoustics or Multi-phase flow is a plus
  • Be able to work both independently and as a member of a team. Requires good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Practical experience with MS office, Unix/Linux, CAD software, and JAVA are also desirable.

In this respect, a CD-adapco engineer can expect to work on a wide variety of analyses that cover the spectrum of engineering design. Typical CFD simulations performed by our engineering services team include vehicle aerodynamic & thermal design, passenger thermal comfort, boiling simulation within a coolant jacket, hypersonic vehicles, aero-acoustic analysis of cooling fans, assist with the wave impact simulations on a deep water oil platform, internal combustion engine simulations, plus many other exciting topics.
