Position Purpose
    Develop sales strategies, brand recognition, relationships and opportunities around client technical inspection solutions to significantly grow revenue in the USA Renewable Energy Market including wind, solar, bio and hydro.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Build a strong client network and identify key target client opportunities throughout the USA for specific solutions regarding inspection services, technical support, quality control, and engineering solutions in the Renewable Energy Market.
  • Establish Applus brand recognition and inspection service portfolio in the Renewable Energy Market.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness in developing new business and maintaining existing business through the ongoing development of successful sales and marketing tactics targeting the Renewable Energy Market.
  • Deliver the Annual Revenue Budget for the Renewable Energy Market sector by securing client orders in line with business strategy, budget plan and client goals.
  • Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support and relationship building.
  • Conduct weekly or bi-weekly sales/business development meetings and prepare the required documentation to report sales funnel to Management; including targets, clients, and secured work.
  • Lead the quote, proposal and sales process in place to achieve annual plan for revenue; maintain clear communications between business development and operations teams.
  • Assist with project kick offs for Renewable Energy projects providing technical guidance and on-site client support.
  • Identify potential mergers and acquisitions to drive inorganic growth in the Renewable Energy market.
  • Review market analysis to determine client needs, volume potential, price schedules, discount rates, and develop sales campaigns to accommodate goals for the Company.
  • Review analysis of business development activities, client relationships, market penetration and forecast data to determine progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Review regulatory requirements including proposed regulatory changes and market client solutions aimed at solving new and existing regulations.
  • Document and organize feedback from customer interactions to identify opportunities for service delivery improvement and other technology and service opportunities; provide feedback to Operational Support staff and leadership teams.
  • Answer customer and local sales team questions and inquires about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.
  • Identify prospective clients by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, networking, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Must maintain a strong focus on cross functional teamwork with both internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the Renewable Energy Market in the United States including client contacts and relationships.
  • Knowledge of and ability to articulate technical inspection solutions and applications in the Renewable Energy.
  • Must have analytical capabilities for customer needs assessment and solutions identification.

Education and Work Experience
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in an aggressive sales environment or technical role within the Renewable Energy Market required.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Renewable Energy Market required.
  • 5+ years of non-destructive testing experience preferred but not required.
  • A proven track record of client relationships and contract awards in the Renewable Energy Market.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Certificates and Licenses Required
  • Must meet minimum company requirements to operate a company vehicle and be eligible for coverage under Company insurance program.

Working Conditions
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside an office environment, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
  • For field site visits, the physical environment requires the employee to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather. Required of use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and working environment.
  • For field site visits, may occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • Overtime may be required during the week and weekend with work volume
  • Ability to travel when required, nationally, up to 75% of the time.
