Position Purpose
    This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office, with a focus on employee development and internal training. The HR Generalist manages the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: training and development, performance management, interviewing and onboarding, employee relations and retention, organizational development, and employment.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Training employee, manager, and / or operations in employee, supervisor, or company development or processes; evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness. Assist with creation of training materials and the delivery and follow up of that training.
  • Monitor and perform full employee onboarding and offboarding activities
  • Travel to office locations in the East and Central region for general updates, training and organizational development.
  • Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws, including reporting requirements.
  • Advise managers and employees on state and federal employment regulations, benefit and compensation policies, personnel procedures and classification programs.
  • Prepare reports, such as organization and flow charts, and career path reports, to summarize job analysis and evaluation and compensation analysis information.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Administer and maintain the benefit process for eligible employees; explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Assist in recruiting by interviewing potential applicants in conjunction with the supporting manager.
  • Assist with employee relations and performance management including employee coaching and counseling.
  • To assist in policy development, documentation and communication.
  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
  • Record data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, amount of sales or production, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Gather personnel records from other departments or employees.
  • Examine employee performance to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions.
  • Answer questions regarding examinations, eligibility, salaries, benefits, and other pertinent information.
  • Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
  • Request information from law enforcement officials, previous employers, and other references to determine applicants' employment acceptability.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent PowerPoint and other MS Office programs.
  • LMS experience and SCORM packaging experience preferred.

Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of operational HR Generalist experience, with heavy employee relations and training responsibilities.
  • Remote workforce experience preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience with iCIMS, ADP Workforce Now, ADP eTime, and/or Sharepoint preferred.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Certificates and Licenses Required
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred

Working Conditions
  • The physical environment requires the employee to work inside an office environment, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes

  • Domestic travel up to 10%.
  • Work from home option currently encouraged. Must be commutable to office location in Williamsviile, NY on short notice. Must be willing and able to return to a flexiable hour office enviroment if needed.
