Job Description

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

 
Primary Function and Scope:
Lead a team of Project Engineers to refine and polish concepts provided by the applications and sales department. Work with Project Engineers to take a concept that has been proposed for budgetary purposes and turn it into a working concept. Concepting could be for simple fixturing, lean cells and / or high speed multi-station assembly equipment. Clarify and resolve ambiguity with Project Engineers for transfer to design, detailing and fabrication release. Research, plan, and concept, products and systems. Direct and coordinate activities involved in by performing, but not limited to the following duties:
 
Duties & Responsibilities: 
Essential Functions
  • Researches and analyzes data such as customer machine specifications, PMD Proposals, and other reference material to determine feasibility of, concept, design or application. **
  • Design products using computerized tools – concept the system design. **
  • Integrate customer systems together. **
  • Create order design should be in. **
  • List out parts to the design **
  • Plans, directs, and develop methods and procedures for testing products. **
  • Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products conform to engineering design and customer specifications. **
  • Coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment. **
  • Designs products to interface machines, hardware and software if necessary. **
  • Evaluates field installation and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. **
  • Observe safety procedures.
  • Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.

Qualification Requirements:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.(1)
 
            EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Degree with 5+ years work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.  Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks, Word and Excel preferred.  Strong skills in conceptualization, problem solving with attention to details.
 
            LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Good communication skills required.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.  Ability to write reports.

            MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to calculate figures.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
 
            REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Wide variety of duties requiring considerable judgment to work independently such as devising new methods, adapting or changing standard procedures to meet new conditions, and making decisions guided by precedent and within established policies.
           
OTHER:  Knowledge of Excel and Access programs.  Experience or knowledge of researching on the Internet.  Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload.  Experience creating databases and developing mailing lists.  Organizational skills, flexible, integrity and ability to work independently.  Willing to travel and work overtime if necessary.
