Overview

The Chief Human Resources Officer will have overall responsibility for the Human Resources function reporting directly to the President & CEO. This individual of immense passion, ability, and organizational skill to evolve Human Resources into a competitive advantage that will enable CPI to achieve greater success and to be the employer of choice in its industry and markets. The HR Leader is expected to partner closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership to establish the right culture, talent pool and organization design and practices that will enable the company to achieve its goals. The HR Leader will be responsible for planning, designing, communicating and executing HR services and programs that are aligned with and will further CPI's business strategies.

The individual who succeeds in this position is one who has demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a collaborative manner, evaluate people, analyze and provide solutions for complex situations and be decisive.

Responsibilities
    Act as a business partner to the CEO and the rest of the leadership team to run a successful business.
  • Lead and develop a high performing HR team focused on HR strategies, policies, and initiatives that will drive business performance and build a strong and consistent culture.
  • Evaluate and ensure the core foundational infrastructure of HR is effectively meeting the day-to-day employee and business service delivery needs.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain the organization's human capital through effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of employee relations and human resource policies, programs, and practices.
  • Work closely with Operations leaders to create, implement, and execute on a strategic workforce plan and reward system to ensure the company is attracting, retaining, developing and rewarding its employees appropriately.
  • Serve as an advisor to senior leaders for all matters that relate to strategic human capital management and development.
  • Manage the delivery and execution of core yearly HR processes and policies (e.g. performance management, salary reviews, talent reviews).
  • Manage the strategy and programs that support employee engagement, driven by data from the employee engagement survey, exit surveys, and people analytics.
  • Effectively manage the annual human capital budget including recruitment, learning and organization development programs and employee relations.
  • Drive the development and continuous improvement of development programs including front-line leadership development, supervisory training, and the overall development of current and future company leaders.
  • Working with the Legal and Compliance teams to ensuring that all HR policies, programs and practices are meeting all regulatory, compliance and legal requirements (e.g. COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA, etc.).
  • Prepare recommendations and facilitate the delivery of materials to the Compensation Committee.
  • Provide input on the company's annual strategic and operating plans.
  • Manage executive compensation including participation in the development of the company's proxy statement, 10-K and CD&A.
  • Participate as a member of the corporate leadership team to ensure the employee experience reflects the company's culture and values.
Qualifications
  1. Demonstrates strong leadership style and superb communication, coaching, influencing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  1. Extensive knowledge of the practices of Human Resources within a global business with strong knowledge of and experience managing the following key areas:
    • Staffing and employee relations;
    • Compensation, benefits, and retirement plans to include negotiating renewal processes of plans, and consulting with management regarding benefits programs and costs and employer/employee cost sharing;
    • Safety initiatives and audits;
    • Deployed HR services;
    • Talent management functions such as learning and development, succession planning and performance management;
    • Best practices in HR and issues impacting our workforce;
    • Employment law.

  3. Demonstrated ability to energize and inspire others to commit to and take action on business priorities, especially when driving change. Strong analytical, collaborative problem solving and presentation skills.

Experience / Education

  1. Bachelor's Degree required; GPHR and/or SPHR certification required; Master's Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or Organizational Psychology preferred.
  2. A minimum of 10 years of progressive HR and leadership experience, including experience within a global company, required; experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
  3. Experience in managing others and leading initiatives.
  4. Experience with contract negotiation and the creation and effective management of budgets.
  5. Experience in acquisition activity, including integration of businesses.
  6. Experience dealing with and presenting to senior leaders.
  7. Expert level proficiency in MS Office Suite, and HRIS systems.

This role requires the ability to work from home in a virtual environment, where the following is required;
