Job Description

This position is responsible for the timely shipping of all international mail and shipments leaving Starkey, and ensuring all items are shipped according to procedure.  This position is also responsible for pick-up and delivery of products between the Warehouse, Main building, Technical Center and Cabinet Shop at predetermined areas. You will also be responsible for operating a box truck for the intercompany routing of mail and packages. The hours for this position will be 8am-4:30pm M-F with some overtime.

Job Duties:

  1. Ensure timely shipping of all international mail and shipments leaving Starkey.
    1. Box, weigh and label shipments.
    2. Prepare paperwork (airbill, certificate of origin, certificate of compliance, bill of lading, SED).
    3. Conduct tracers on shipments that are lost.
    4. Prepare documentation and ship flammable liquids.
    5. Maintain daily shipping lists.
  2. Ensure all items are shipped according to procedure.
    1. Contact freight forwarders for shipping quotes and to schedule pick-ups.
    2. Conduct credit checks
    3. Send out shipping confirmations to clients.
    4. Answer questions from international shipping clerks or other departments within Starkey.
    5. Research shipping regulations for proper shipping.
  3. Manage shipping requirements to foreign sites.
    1. Prepare commercial and Starkey invoices.
    2. Communicate with export department about problems, shipping instruction and urgent rush orders.
    3. Keep files for each account and all their shipments.
    4. Prioritize workload.
  4. Ensure products and materials reach their proper destination within all Starkey buildings.
    1. Pick up and deliver products and material between the WFA, Main building, Technical Center, Hamilton WH and Cabinet Shop.
    2. Perform general maintenance of Company truck.
  5. Ensure raw materials and products are delivered in a timely manner to vendors and local Starkey companies.
    1. Deliver product to local Starkey companies when necessary.
  6. Manage inventory.
    1. Pick and ship orders
    2. Maintain inventory control for INT RESERV, CROSSDOCK and HQ STORES

Requirements:

Education:

  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license that is in good standing and be able to pass DOT physical.
  • Must be comfortable operating a box truck.

Experience:

  • Ability to use Pallet Jack

 

Knowledge

  • IATA Hazardous materials certification required
  • Forklift Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License

Skills & Abilities

  • Good people skills
  • Ability to type 30-35 WPM required.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 125 pounds required.
  • Ability to work with accuracy
  • Good communication skills required
  • Good manual dexterity required.
  • Good organizational skills desirable
  • Good ten key skills desirable
