Description

We are seeking a Project Superintendent to work at our client site in New York, NY! The Project Superintendent will provide overall on-site administrative and technical management on construction project site.

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and supervise craft activities including determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked in a specific site area.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, material control, safety, quality assurance).
  • Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
  • May authorize and/or approve all field personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
  • Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project.

Secondary Functions:

  • May authorize and/or approve all field personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Project Manager.
Qualifications

Needed Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; design, cost control schedules and safety required.
  • Good communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.

Education/Experience Minimum:

  • Four-year technical degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Minimum of eight years construction management and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction.
  • Preferred experience: airport terminal buildings, airport terminal facilities and systems at a medium and/or large air carrier airport.
  • Required experience: Airport baggage handling systems.
