Position Title: Food Service & Manufacturing Support Employee

Status: Non-exempt

Reports To: Food Service Operations Manager/Director of Manufacturing/Director of Warehouse and Distribution

Overall Responsibility:

The Food Service and Manufacturing Support Employee will work in the High Five Bistro at Bosma Enterprises Corporate building and be responsible for food preparation, cooking, operating food service equipment, taking customer orders, performing cashier tasks, and cleanup of equipment and food service areas. This is approximately 20 hours per week.

This employee will also work in Production packaging exam gloves, supporting production lines, and assist with keeping the area neat, clean, and safe. Additionally, the employee will help as needed in the warehouse completing cycle counts, pallet auditing, and assisting with keeping the area neat, clean, and safe. Work in Production and the warehouse will be approximately 20 hours per week dependent on the needs of each department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions of the Food Service and Manufacturing Support Employee position consist primarily of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Operate food service equipment and follow food service procedures in performing the following tasks:
    • Take customer orders
    • Perform food preparation and cooking tasks
    • Wash dishes, food service equipment, food preparation areas, and break room area
    • Perform cashier tasks, including collecting money, making change, and operating cash register
  • Minimize waste by following defined procedures and quality standards
  • Assist in inventory management by performing assigned tasks
  • Conduct work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all Bosma Enterprises policies and procedures. Adhere to all cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
  • Train new food service employees and training program participants
  • Unload product off of pallets and on to production lines or work stations
  • Cut open packaging and prepare raw work for other employees to package
  • Construct carton, pack product inside of carton, close carton, tape carton, and stack carton on conveyer, skid, or bin
  • Count and document critical characteristics of the product as defined by the specific job's work instruction
  • Ensure products are produced according to established quality standards and specification
  • Complete Cycle Counting and Pallet Auditing in the warehouse on outbound customer orders
  • Assist in keeping work area neat, clean, and safe: through picking up trash, sweeping, and wiping down work surfaces in the Bistro, production area, or warehouse.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required
  • One year of food service experience including some commercial cooking experience required
  • Two years or more of food service experience preferred
  • One year of manufacturing experience including production and warehouse activities a plus

  • Ability to communicate effectively and openly with customers and coworkers
  • Must be able to maintain composure when receiving a customer comment or complaint and work through any disagreements or conflicts in a calm and effective manner
