We seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for managing all phases of electrical and control equipment throughout the plant. This includes preventive, corrective, emergency, warranty service, etc. throughout the facility. Identifies, repairs, and documents electrical equipment malfunctions. Familiar with and have skills to troubleshoot DCS systems, PLC's, VFD, motor control circuits, transmitters, flow meters, level controls and burner management systems. Calibrates mechanical and electrical instrumentation, installs and tests new equipment in accordance with safety standards, conducts predictive analysis of electrical and instrumentation systems and equipment and update Preventive Maintenance System and work orders. Willing to perform other duties as assigned to assist the maintenance department. Must be willing to be on-call and work variety of shifts to meet plant needs.

Responsibilities:

* Operating and maintaining the instrument and control test, calibration and repair areas and all equipment and tolls assigned.

* Helping to redesign instrumentation, control and electrical systems, as required.

* Monitors burning, as appropriate.

* Performs general work or other assignments necessary to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the facility.

* Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

To qualify you must have fundamental computer skills, have knowledge of electrical and instrumentation theory/technology and standard operating & safety procedures. Candidate must have excellent manual dexterity allowing for the repair of precision equipment safely and effectively, while working in awkward locations/positions. Must have the ability to read and understand technical manuals, blue prints and schematics. Accurate manual dexterity for repairing precision equipment in awkward positions and locations. Oral and written communication skills and problem solving and decision making ability, and customer service skills are needed. You must be able to work in varying conditions of heat, cold, dust, noise, smoke, vibrations, odors, various elevations, etc. A minimum of a 2 yr AAS Degree or equivalent background in instrumentation & control systems, along with being familiar with a power generation and power plant operations is a plus.

The expected hourly pay rate for this position is $31.17 - $34.55.

This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary figure will take into account a variety of factors including experience, ability and location. Covanta is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
