Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Benefits Administrator to join our HR Team. In this role you will support the Manager of Health & Welfare Benefits and will interface with external carriers, Payroll, Controllers and with employees of all levels to provide excellent customer service and issue resolution. You will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Benefits team and provide administrative support in the delivery of the Health & Welfare plans.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively monitor internal and external benefits programs and processes and seek to identify issues and breakdowns in process
  • Support all vendor integration files, HSA funding and payroll related processing
  • Interface with payroll and the external benefits administrator to ensure timely and accurate benefit deductions
  • Assume responsibility of timely payment of carrier invoices
  • Collaborate with Controllers on benefits related items
  • Process all benefit matters related to employee, retiree and dependent deaths
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Maintain records and manage compliance filings for Health & Welfare plans in line with company guidelines and state, federal, or other agency regulations
  • Coordinate the audit of benefit programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and escalate potential shortfalls, if necessary
  • Assist with benefits audits and reconciliations initiated by payroll, carriers, as well as internal and external auditors
  • Ensure adherence to established SLAs and contracts
  • Liaise with benefit carriers and HRDirect regarding employee benefit issues and ensure issue resolution
  • Assist in developing employee training and communications about benefit programs and compliance notices
  • Coordinate and present new hire orientation
  • Coordinate wellbeing events such as vaccinations, biometric screenings, onsite Thrive events, incentive administration, etc.
  • Support planning, communication and incentive administration of well-being initiatives
  • Assist with US Perks program (Employee Discount Program)
  • Ensure BBH HR portal is updated as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preference for HR or related disciplines
  • 2 to 3 years of experience working in HR Benefits or related fields preferred.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills (verbal, written, auditory) with the ability to comfortably interface at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee data with discretion and professionalism
  • Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Prior HRIS or Workday experience is beneficial to the role
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact at all levels of the organization with diplomacy and professionalism
  • HIPAA certification, a plus

This role is located in our NYC office and is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week in office.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $85,000 + annual bonus target

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
