CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Chief Inspector - Construction to join our Infrastructure - Transportation/Construction Inspection Team at a client site in Buffalo, NY.

CHA provides a full complement of construction administration and inspection services to monitor, record and deliver successful projects. Our inspection team includes seasoned certified construction professionals cross-trained in design, risk management, and health and safety compliance to underscore our commitment to stringent standards. The Chief Inspector - Construction is responsible for all aspects of observing and documenting the construction of the construction of multiple highway culverts. Examples include re-lining projects, installation of culvert pipes constructed of reinforced concrete pipe, smooth interior corrugated plastic pipe, three and four-sided precast culverts, cast-in-place concrete, work zone traffic safety protocol, and NYSDOT policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS
    Associate degree in Engineering Science, Construction Services or related technical field required; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • NICET Level III Highways Construction Inspection certification preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' related Construction Observation experience required
  • Must have site manager program experience
  • Must have full understanding with NYSDOT standards and specifications
  • Demonstrates a good knowledge about the construction industry
  • Excellent knowledge of and reinforces the company's and client's standards
  • Ability to understand and interpret client's contracts
  • Able to analyze and recommend resolutions to complicated construction issues
  • Understanding of building codes and zoning ordnances
  • Strong mathematics skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel Project, and Outlook
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work independently as well as part of team
  • Demonstrates willingness to aid and train entry level staff
  • Ability to coordinate workload of other inspection staff members assigned to the project
