Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • This position is for an engineer who is self-motivated, has a strong work ethic, and takes ownership and accountability for their work.
  • Demonstrated ability as an independent, proactive leader who works well within a team.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with team members, internal and external customers, and senior leadership.
  • Providing accurate and timely status of budget, schedule, and technical issues
  • Support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modifications, security, and upgrading of development support systems and simulation components to provide services that enable programs to effectively develop simulation software solutions.
  • Working with complex configuration environments; build servers, virtual labs, generalizing tools to accommodate multiple languages and architectures, and assuring tools and processes scale to accommodate the evolving needs of our diverse teams.
  • Work closely with the production release and operations teams to establish and deploy consistent, high quality, and packaged builds for our internal and external customers.
  • Create media and procedures for coldstart execution of training device, both in-plant and at customer facilities.
  • Work with other team members to design and document development system architectures and topologies for both general and simulation specific purposes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers.
  • Coordinating with other program leads to ensure program completes successfully.
  • Candidate should be a fast learner with very strong analysis and problem-solving skills

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of 13 years applicable experience working as a leader, developer, or technologist.
  • Ability to apply sound engineering principles and develop innovative solutions
  • Proven success in a fast-paced development environment and possess a willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressure
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive criticism
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, document, test and debug
  • Linux and Windows System Administration, knowledge of hardware, as well as expertise in command line tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities with the ability to resolve conflicting priorities.
  • General computer skills including use of Microsoft Office products
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance within a five-year investigation period
  • Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS)
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
  • Security+ , CASP+ CE, CISSP (or Associate), or CSSLP certification

Preferred Skills

  • Prior Military Experience
  • Strong RedHat Linux and Windows Server System Administration, TCP/IP Networking, shell scripting
  • Experience with running small network-isolated closed room datacenters.
  • Experience with Domain Controller setup and configuration of Group Policy Objects
  • Configure, manage, monitor, and optimize on-line, near-online and off-line storage systems (NAS, SAN, NFS etc).
  • Experience configuring Cisco and/or HP Networking
  • Experience with System Hardening with standards such as the DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as ACAS and SCAP.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux Patch Management (such as WSUS and YUM)

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Salary Range: $117,900 - $147,400
Please note: The actual compensation rate is subject to the evaluation of the following factors (but not limited to): the candidate's work experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and market.
