Job Description Summary

Provide technical support to maintenance plant wide. Utilize leadership skills to promote teamwork and develop efficient systems within the maintenance organization. Oversee plant preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance programs, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, lubrication, tank inspections, PSV inspections, and various other machine-specific maintenance needs. Work closely with maintenance working supervisors, unit technical/team leaders, and I/E team leader to implement and track outage plans. Identify, scope, plan, and implement maintenance improvement projects.

Job Description

  • Provide leadership in establishing and maintaining a robust Preventive Maintenance Optimization program.
  • Execute Process and Maintenance projects geared toward (1) improving OEE, and (2) increasing the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) while reducing the Mean Time To Repair (MTTR)
  • Repair equipment as necessary and provide maintenance support when available. Coordinate.
  • Follow Management of Change (MOC) procedures; keep files and drawings up-to-date when modifications are made.
  • Advise, review and approve temporary repairs and modifications to equipment - (e.g. piping repairs, rotating equipment, MOCs, etc.).
  • Advise on proper execution and documentation of repair and preventive maintenance (PM) activities for both rotating and fixed assets.
  • Advise on PSM - required PM programs, inspections, and documentation. Secure resources to perform these functions as needed for the sites.
  • Identify and interface with preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and technical support consultants and vendors.
  • Make recommendations on best materials, practices, and technical support resources to maintenance management leaders.
  • Develop, maintain and update maintenance documentation (e.g. repair reports, bill of materials, upgrade recommendations) for critical plant equipment.
  • Support Contract maintenance team as required for routine repair and maintenance activities.
  • Perform root-cause analyses of Process and Equipment faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with rotating equipment vibration analysis and condition monitoring data interpretation, recommend actions based on these analyses.
  • Provide the first line of technical support for issues related to stationary and rotating equipment maintenance and reliability.
  • Assist with equipment performance troubleshooting as requested/required.
  • Assist with CAPEX management at site level
  • Actively identify and work to eliminate waste in plant processes, procedures, and normal work activities.
  • Learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Sustain mechanical integrity compliance year over year, once the initial ITPM is completed.
  • Establish visual management data for site leadership, reliability department, and production areas.

Additional Job Description

Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years within a reliability, maintenance, or engineering role in the chemical manufacturing industry.

Special Requirements and Independency: Experience with Process Safety Management.
