The Role

Mission:

To facilitate growth of Power Technique's Aftermarket through a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality maintenance, repair and overhaul of portable air compressors, dewatering pumps, and generators.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic and repair services on portable air compressors, generators, and dewatering pumps in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and traveling to customer locations.
  • Perform diagnostics using OEM software for John Deere, Cummins, Isuzu, Perkins, Kubota, Kohler, and CAT. Determine possible causes and perform repairs.
  • Test and document proper operating parameters.
  • Provide basic tools for job along with normal maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Provide high level of customer service.
  • Develop rapport with customers through eective communication, interpersonal skills, and professionalism.
  • Train and assist other service technicians.
  • Promote and practice proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we expect of you?

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of technical service experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment is required.
  • 5+ years of engine diagnostics using OEM diagnostic software.
  • 6+ years of technical service experience maintaining and repairing compressed air equipment, dewatering pumps (Atlas Copco and other) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong experience with repair knowledge of diesel emission systems (SCR, DPF, DOC).
  • Strong electrical diagnostic background. 12v and 24v systems J1939 can bus systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of portable compressors is strongly preferred.

Education:

This position requires a High School diploma or GED.

Skills:

To be successful in this position, the candidate must:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Troubleshooting Skills
  • A basic level of understanding and competence with computers and associated systems (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.), business systems, distribution channels and accounting practices.
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Willingness to grow within the business.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.

Travel:

Extensive travel to customer locations is required, with some overnight travel (up to 10%).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
