About the Role:
Manages the planning, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the informatics function and overall research and development (R&D) computing capability. Oversees the computational infrastructure and systems integrations to enable the flow of scientific information. Partners with the organization to develop both short- and long-term information systems strategies that will help the organization meet its business objectives. Develops a R&D informatics systems and data strategy, including the incorporation of large databases from collaborations, strategic alliances, and R&D efforts._
Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):Partners with R&D stakeholders to manage the planning, design, selection, development, implementation, support, and maintenance of R&D informatics solutions and overall R&D computing capability
Oversees the computational infrastructure and systems integrations to enable the flow information for large-scale studies
Provide technical leadership to team of analysts and engineers who will buy and build informatics solutions
Partners with the organization to provide both short- and long-term information systems strategies that will help the organization meet its business objectives by developing data and database strategy, including the incorporation of large databases from collaborations, strategic alliances and R&D efforts
Partners with scientific functions to develop and maintain applications systems for the management and analysis of data
Partners with scientific functions to develop novel informatics tools which utilize emerging technologies
Provides web-based informatics access to public and proprietary relational databases
Develops and maintains computational tools
Works closely with stakeholders across the business to understand business opportunities to identify gaps and to align informatics capabilities with needs
Builds and manages a staff of information systems professionals and works in collaboration with drug discovery project teams
Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function

BS/BA degree in statistics / Bioinformatics / Computer science and 6+ years of experience in informatics, software development life cycle, data management, and querying / mining data from databases or related experience required. Chemistry Informatics experience is preferred OR
Masters degree in statistics / Bioinformatics / Computer science and 4+ years of experience as noted above OR
PhD degree in statistics / Bioinformatics / Computer science and 1+ years of experience as noted above
Managerial / functional management or leadership experience preferred
Expert in at least one modern programming language
Working knowledge of user interface design
Experienced in querying and mining data from a relational database
Proficient in data visualization design
Proficient in MS Office applications
Comfortable with Server environments
Able to provide ideas for data process improvements
Requires understanding of how the team / work area relates to other related areas and uses that knowledge to improve efficiency and produce high-quality work on problems with cross-functional impact
Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems/problems relating to own discipline
Frequently works cross-functionally as the representative for their area

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $125,700.00-$182,250.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
