What the day will look like

The Accounting Operations Specialist is a member of the CoverWallet Accounting Operations team reporting to the Manager of Accounting Operations. You will be responsible for delivering efficient results through the successful execution of assigned responsibilities. The core activities of the Accounting Operations team include fiduciary cash balancing and reporting, fiduciary cash disbursements to insurance carriers, servicing front office and insurance carrier requests and billing inquiries, and partnering with Finance and Controllership on fiduciary funds monthly reporting.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly fiduciary cash balancing and reporting
  • Responsible for downloading banking activity reports from financial institutions to complete the daily reconciliation process
  • Responsible for discrepancy tracking coordination and resolution of issues related to customer payment application
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and abstract up from low-level
  • Responsible carrier remittances as assigned
  • Partner with the controllership team to resolve outstanding fiduciary bank account reconciliation items
  • Partner with CoverWallet operation and product teams to resolve policy system and data input errors that are resulting in cash reconciliation issues
  • Ad hoc analysis utilizing in-house systems and databases
  • Analyze information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details to identify recurring imbalance drivers
  • Point person for internal and external contacts for inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial controls
  • Other responsibilities and enterprise duties as assigned
Skills and experience that will lead to success

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or Mathematics preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience
Technical:
  • Solid financial accounting and analytical skills
  • Experience in researching and resolving reconciliation variances
  • The position requires a motivated self-starter
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Google sheets, and database analytics
  • Insurance Agency accounting experience preferred
  • Strong customer service focus
Professional:
  • Validated rapport and relationship-building skills with C-suite and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project and budget leadership skills from concept to execution, prioritizing high-impact activities, and keeping projects moving forward driven by deadlines and performance.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a lean-in and roll-up-your-sleeve demeanor, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Consistent track record building and handling channel partnerships with favorable business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a consistent track record of successfully pitching for new business.
  • Highly organized, motivated, positive, and hard-working personality with the ability to quickly master exciting topics, think creatively, proactively solve problems, and drive results.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $40,000 - $46,00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
