We are currently looking for a full-time Controller / Senior Accountant with construction industry experience to work with our finance team and project managers to assist with financial reporting and job cost accounting.
Duties and responsibilities:
Assist with monthly, quarterly, annual financial close process
Work with project managers on budgets, cost to complete, and owner change orders
Prepare and maintain WIP schedule
Provide project analysis’
Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Maintain cost and expense schedules and record journal entries
Prepare and maintain multiple company and division reports
Prepare and maintain intercompany entries
Assist with compliance and financial audits
Assist with insurance program, renewals, and maintenance
Assist with the tracking and maintenance of equipment
Reconcile GL accounts
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
Construction industry experience
General knowledge of sales and use tax, highway use tax and payroll taxes
Integrity, good work ethic, dependable, adaptable, cooperative and motivated to take on new responsibilities to increase value within the company
Must be able to work with multiply companies and divisions
Must be able to research and resolve variances and issues
Must be highly organized, detailed orientated, accurate and self-check work
Able to work independently with some oversite, and in a team environment
Must follow established procedures
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Sage Software a plus
