Overview

TRC is seeking an Environmental Engineer / Project Manager to join our growing Engineering, Construction and Remediation Practice in West Seneca, NY. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual and have 3-6 years of environmental consulting experience. This position offer hybrid flexibility and would only require one in-office day per week.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of operating facilities (industrial and rail transportation facilities primarily), and prepare industrial stormwater permit applications (general and individual stormwater permits in NY, PA and other Northeastern states), sewer discharge permit applications, and petroleum and chemical bulk storage (CBS and PBS) registrations.
  • Prepare supporting plans and documents including: Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs); Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans; Preparedness, Prevention and Contingency (PPC) Plans; Spill Prevention Reports (SPRs); and Facility Response Plans (FRPs).
  • Work with Senior Project Managers to scope, cost, plan, and execute compliance, monitoring, investigation, and remediation projects (experience with PCB cleanup is preferred). Prepare detailed construction/remediation cost estimates using online construction cost estimating software is preferred.
  • Undertaking (and management of) field activities, including soil and groundwater investigations, indoor air and sub-slab investigations, drilling and well installation, operation and maintenance, and remedial system installation.
  • Assist in the development of field work plans, health and safety plans, and community air monitoring plans.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, schedules, invoicing, sub-contractor procurement and oversight.
  • Willingness to build a sustaining practice and engage in business development efforts including being active in professional organizations.
  • Preparation of technical specifications and design drawings in support of environmental remediation projects including remedial system design, vapor intrusion mitigation, remedial excavation, chemical injections, pilot tests and feasibility studies.
  • Perform field work including construction inspections and soil, stormwater, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling.
  • Remedial Investigation Work Plan Preparation, Implementation and Oversight.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering.
  • 3 to 6 years of environmental consulting experience.
  • Experience in NYSDEC Standby Engineering Contract work a plus.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER and 10-hr Construction certification a plus.
  • Demonstrates excellence and efficiency in writing, communication, data analysis, professional judgment, and knowledge of scientific principles.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and work ethic.
  • Ability to work remotely and continue to perform at a high level.
  • Ability to work in the field and travel throughout the northeast states (including NC and north).
  • Strong quality assurance/quality control skills to perform report technical and quality reviews.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple project assignments.
  • Ability to work in a project team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and motor vehicle records check.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $75,000-$95,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
