Overall Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this role supports the financial planning and analysis team providing top level reporting and analysis, indirect budgeting and rate generation, and cross disciplinary financial analysis.

Primary & Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for various complex financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis
  • Collaborate across functions including contracts, operations, and project management
  • Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets, and generate various financial reports as required
  • Prepare and file financial reports (P&L, B/S, CF, etc.) with the parent company. Perform financial analyses and generate reports and recommendations for management review
  • Study trends and reports on depreciation, working capital, R&D, rates of return, and financial and expense comparisons based on profit and loss statements and income statements
  • Formulate indirect rates / indirect cost budgets coordinating with cost account managers and stakeholders
  • Prepare company direct labor and indirect rate proposals for submittal to applicable government and other entities and supporting related audit activities
  • Monitor and assess financial impact of changes to indirect rates, rate pools, and allocations to program budgets, revenue generation, and profitability
  • Forecasting and tracking internal research and development as well as bid and proposal projects
  • Prepare monthly forecasts, risk assessment and variance analysis to senior management ensuring management understanding of rate and budget issues
  • Recommend new methods and processes related to the financial analysis function and present to senior management
  • Participate in team efforts to improve functioning of the department and provide guidance to less-experienced Financial Analysts
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as DAR, FAR, and other government regulations and ensure appropriate records and documentation are maintained
  • Support audits and analysis of the organization's direct and indirect costs, and review their practices and procedures, ensuring that labor and non-labor charges are approved, allowable, and processed in a timely manner
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Years of Experience and Education Level

5+ years Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance with 5+ years directly related experience including a thorough knowledge of DAR/FAR and other applicable government regulations (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience)
  • MBA/CPA/CMA preferred
  • Defense contractor experience preferred

Required Skills

  • Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables, V/X Lookups, and macros
  • Experience with Deltek CostPoint, SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, TM1, or similar financial systems
  • Knowledge of Deltek COBRA a plus
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and budgeting skills
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to collaborate across the organization
  • Strong understanding of government regulations: Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)

The annual base salary range of this position is $82,000 - $106,000.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement for a new hire, promotion, or job transfer, and may be modified in the future. Actual base salary may vary depending on a variety of factors including relevant experience, education, specialized/key skills, certifications, departmental budgets, market demands, geographic location, and other relevant, job-related factors.

Eligible employees may enroll in the Company's 401(k) retirement savings plan, which includes a matching percentage. This position is also eligible for a bonus plan in addition to the base pay range listed above.

The current schedule for this position is:

  • 9/80 work schedule, every other Friday off. Other flexible schedules may be available.
  • Hybrid remote
