About the role

We seek a dedicated individual who will operate the scale house computer to accurately weigh trucks, monitor inbound/outbound truck activity, communicate with various departments and keep accurate records of all tickets and manifests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approach all encounters with employees, customers and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

  • Assist the Operations Analyst with recordkeeping, filing and preparing standard reports.

  • Monitor inbound/outbound truck activity and acquire and monitor accurate truck weights.

  • Identify correct customer account by speaking with drivers and visual verification of to ensure accurate billing of customers.

  • Keep accurate records of all tickets and manifests.

  • Answer the telephone and provide information to the public regarding hours of operation, acceptable types of waste, and location

  • Calculate payments for customers.

  • Balance the daily receipts to ensure accurate record keeping and appropriate billing.

  • Ensure that incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.

  • Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Communicate with supervisor and various departments any problems or scale operational issues.

Qualifications:

  • GED/ HS diploma required.

  • One to three years of experience with administrative, clerical and accounting activities, required.

  • Candidate must be highly organized, along with having knowledge of basic principles of bookkeeping and records management.

  • Must possess skills in working within deadlines to complete projects or assignments, along with operating a computer utilizing a variety of business software. Skills in Microsoft programs, specifically Excel are necessary.

  • Ability to multi-task and focus on day-to-day details.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.

Schedule:

This position is day shift, working potentially between the hours of 5:00 am - 7:00 pm Monday through Friday and rotating shift of 5:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday. May be required to work extended hours or other shifts as business needs require.
