Seneca Environmental is seeking a Business Operations Manager to support our team. The ideal candidate will have three (3) years or more of business operations experience. The Business Operations Manager will play a key role in the strategic and operational success of Seneca Environmental. Reporting directly to the Vice President, this individual will oversee various aspects of business operations, including internal meeting calendars / agendas, invoicing, contract administration, systems management, relationship management, and project management. The ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, business acumen, and a passion for advancing clean energy initiatives with corporate customers and within tribal communities.

A background in renewable energy is a plus but not a requirement, though candidates that do not have a familiarity with the industry should be confident in their ability to learn and come up to speed quickly.

This position is a unique role that will give the employee access to all areas of the business, including internal operations, business development, and marketing & communications initiatives. The Business Operations Manager is the glue that binds together different departments and business functions, ensuring seamless coordination and communication. You will serve as the point person for cross-functional collaboration, troubleshooting, and driving efficiency improvements throughout the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Streamline internal processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Oversee administrative functions, including vendor management, invoicing, and (virtual) office management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including company leadership and potential customers and outside vendors.
  • Foster positive relationships with industry partners, external consultants and tribal communities to support business growth and development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in business operations, preferably in the clean energy sector or within tribal organizations.
  • Ability to thrive and lead a team in a primarily remote working environment.
  • Highly organized and accountable, with ability to manage and improve internal systems.
  • Self-motivated and flexible.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Comfort presenting on frequent video calls and giving remote presentations to customers and senior leaders.
  • Values alignment (see values in company description).
  • Excited to train and help grow internal team capacity.
  • Understanding of company's unique value proposition.
  • Experience with Microsoft 360 (Power Point, Word, Teams, Outlook/Calendar, Excel, SharePoint), Zoom, Box.
  • Experience with project management and customer relationship management (CRM) software (we use Monday.com).

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of tribal governance structures, regulations, and cultural sensitivities is highly desirable.
  • Skills as a people leader
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
  • Ability to travel as needed for events and meetings

In compliance with various state requirements, the salary range for this role is $65,000 to $100,000 annual with an annual performance-based bonus. However, Seneca Holdings considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to: the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
