The Statler Hotel at Cornell University announces an opportunities for part-time, Temporary Guest Service Agent(s) to join our Front Office Team. The Statler Hotel is Four-Diamond Award winning property in the center of the beautiful Ithaca campus.

The role of a Temporary Guest Service Agent:

As a member of the Statler Hotel's Front Office Team, you will create warm, genuine, and personalized experiences, while delivering a world-class level of service to our guests. Among your duties, you will:

  • Register and check in guests, fulfill requests, and follow up to ensure complete satisfaction; Monitor room status, assist guests with directions and area information, and maintain detailed guest profiles.
  • Communicate accurately and clearly within the front office team and with other departments in the hotel; Assist others when help is needed, record and pass on pertinent information from your shift to the incoming staff.
  • Check guests out of the hotel with a level of service that meets or exceeds guest expectations, while verifying charges and accurately completing the payment process.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Superior communication skills (verbal and written) and professional phone etiquette.
  • A warm and enthusiastic personality, always committed to giving your best effort and going above and beyond for others while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Available to work variable shifts, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and can lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of hotel management systems/revenue management/OTA's (online travel agencies).
  • Some accounting experience desired.
