Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a Full-Time, day shift RN Unit Supervisor on the Psychiatry Unit.

  • Behavioral Health unit:
    • With the demand for behavioral health services continuing to grow, IMVH will extend our 30-bed behavioral health unit to 50 beds by early 2023.
    • The new 20-bed unit is designed with the specific needs of this specialized population in mind. Additionally, the current behavioral health unit will also be upgraded and modernized.
    • IMVH behavioral health team received the 2021 Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience from Press Ganey. This accolade recognizes organizations ranked in the 95th percentile amongst other healthcare facilities across the nation.

Candidates are eligible to receive up to $20,000 as a competitive sign on bonus. Those relocating from more than 50 miles away will also receive relocation assistance.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. Embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision making structures and processes. Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility. Requirements:

  • Certification - Basic Life Support; Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 12 months of hire; Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within 3 months of hire
  • Licensure - Licensed Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Education - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or Associate's Degree RN within 1 year of completing their BSN)
