Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the supplier qualification program.
  • Develop and maintain Foreign Supplier Verification Program per 21CFR117.
  • Develop and maintain annual supplier audit schedule and request supplier audits and/or information, as needed.
  • Lead supplier quality audits to assure the quality of incoming materials and services.
  • Track supplier reassessment dates and update approved supplier database.
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality performance indicators.
  • Routinely review supplier performance with cross functional team.
  • Manage and improve the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) program.
  • Support investigations of raw material/component non-conformance.
  • Work with suppliers to develop supplier quality agreements.
  • Support internal inspection activities (walkthroughs, readiness activities, etc.), as needed.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the Supplier Quality program in external customer and regulatory audits.
  • Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) regulations.
  • Keep abreast of current GMPs and advances in FDA and other regulatory agencies.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7 years of experience working in quality within the food & beverage, dietary supplement or pharmaceutical industry, or commensurate combination of higher education and work experience.
  • Strong communication, reporting, organization, teamwork, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology, chemistry, engineering or related field.
  • Professional supplier quality experience including documentation compliance and audit support in the food & beverage, dietary supplement, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • HACCP and/or PCQI certification.
  • FSMA and FSVP compliance knowledge.
  • Certification or training as a qualified auditor.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
