Job Description

The Manager, Programmatic Operations will be responsible for managing the setup, performance, optimizations and reporting for Private Marketplace deals. We seek a passionate, skilled analyst and advertising operations specialist to help provide best in-class insight into the programmatic advertising business at DotDash Meredith. The ideal candidate has a strong drive to uncover opportunities for revenue growth and to empower our sales teams with market insights and trends.

You must be proficient with using MS Excel, Google Sheets, and other data visualization tools to convey complex messages while using data from multiple sources to uncover areas of opportunity. You must have strong communication skills in order to ensure effective messaging with all teams and departments at Meredith.

You will be responsible for supporting the Sales teams at Dotdash Meredith to ensure all opportunities are presented and our Private Marketplace clients receive best in-class support, along with day-to-day maintenance of the programmatic partnerships and systems needed to grow revenues.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to grow DotDash Meredith's strong standing in the programmatic market by demonstrating strong knowledge of the industry and be able to instill confidence in all interactions with internal and external personnel involved.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop new strategies and programmatic products for D/Cipher and Retail Media Network.

  • Lead tests in SSPs and DSPs for new products for D/cipher and Retail Media Network, and develop processes to release to teams. Includes educating Sales and Account Strategy to ensure team members are up-to-date on DDM's constantly evolving suite of products and solutions.

  • Manage daily operational functions as related to the programmatic advertising to drive revenue growth, and ensure SLA's are met/monitored for the entire team. This includes assigning PMP deal creation to analysts and off-shore teams, ensuring troubleshooting, optimization and ad-hoc reporting requests are completed within SLA's, and acting as a subject matter expert on processes and policy.

  • Work closely with programmatic and direct sales teams to supply client performance and spend data, trends, benchmarking on an ad hoc basis as well as provide feedback on running activity (both PMP and open market).

  • Responsible for documenting learnings to encourage sharing of knowledge amongst teams

Requirements:

  • BA or BS

  • At least 3 years of digital publishing yield management.

  • At least 3 years hands-on experience in working with programmatic metrics (bid density reports, win & response rates, etc.) and programmatic deal troubleshooting

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions and recommendations.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel. Ability to create pivot tables, use v-lookup formulas, if/then statements, devise charts and graphs that convey actionable insights

  • Knowledge / experience with Tableau, Looker and/or Sisense a plus

  • Deep understanding of digital advertising technologies, including ad serving platforms, programmatic advertising, SSPs, DSPs, and data management platforms. Advanced DSP buying experience is preferred, specifically in DV360, TTD, and Amazon.

  • Understanding of CPM, CPC and CPA models.

  • Must be highly organized with excellent follow-through.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate the big picture and drill down to supporting details.

  • Excellent and multi-tasking and close attention to detail a must.

  • Strong judgment; able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • A self-starter with high energy and a positive approach.

  • Revenue-motivated and hard worker: Earnestly focused on the dollars and spends the lion's share of their attention on ways to get the number.

Pay Range

Salary: $84,000 - $120,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees.
