GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible to assemble products and/or related parts in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work based on customer demand and lean manufacturing principles to satisfy the customer and to provide high quality products delivered in a timely manner. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assembles high-quality upholstered furniture using hand tools.

Performs multiple processes using a variety of equipment in a manufacturing setting, dependent upon the department processes.

Solves problems with the assistance of other team members and seeks continuous improvement.

Ensure quality by inspecting and reporting any non-conforming products or parts.

Cross-trains in other departments to learn additional functions.

The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.

Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency

Skills and Abilities

Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting.

Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals.

Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment.

Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift.

Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift and move up to 40 lbs.

Required to communicate and to be able to see with or without correction.
