Summary:

We are hiring a new Air Captain in Birmingham, AL! This position is responsible for the safe and efficient flight operation of the aircraft and the related tasks to and from the destination when providing air transportation for Company personnel. You must pass a first class physical required by FAA, you must have 3000 hour minimum flight time, 1000 hours multi-engine experience, 500 hours jet turbine time, and ATP rating.

What You'll Do:

Pilot Aircraft. Responsible for operation of the aircraft and its supporting systems so that passenger comfort and safety is maintained and confidence enhanced, problems encountered are dealt with in an approved fashion with a minimum passenger awareness and concern, and overall safety and efficiency is maintained.

Monitor Engine Operation or Functioning. Responsible for all decisions regarding in-flight operation of the aircraft so that authority and responsibility is clear and decisions can be made quickly when needed.

Input and Maintain Records. Responsible for the computer systems, entering flight data into the AIS management software, generating the monthly reports that are sent to accounting, and generating the fuel reports our accounting department.

Inspect Aircraft or Aircraft Components. Inspecting equipment, structures, and/or all materials related to the aircraft and its functionality to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects, ensuring all risks to equipment and passengers are held to minimal levels.

Communicate with Others to Coordinate Vehicle Movement. Responsible for all communication on the ground to ensure takeoff and landing are in compliance. Responsible for greeting passengers and establishing a positive, confident rapport so that passenger concerns or particular needs are known and considered in the conduct of the flight and

Plan Flight Operations. Responsible for securing all necessary information relative to the flight such as weather, airport conditions, etc., and deciding what action is to be taken. Assist with arrangements for continuation of the trip such as ground transportation, baggage, or overnight accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Flight Experience:

  • 3,000 hours' total time
  • 1,000 hours in a turbine powered multiengine aircraft (500 hours PIC preferred)

Minimum Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Must be able to be legally employed in the United States.
  • Must reside within approximately 30 miles of the Birmingham, AL area, and/or be willing to relocate to Birmingham.
  • International experience preferred.
  • FAA unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Airplane, Multiengine Land Category, and Class ratings.
  • FAA type rating in the DA-2EASy preferred (not required), and/or operating experience in an aircraft with the Honeywell EASy avionics preferred (not required).
  • Eligibility to obtain a FAA First Class Medical Certificate annually.
  • FCC Radio Telephone Operator Permit.

Other Skills You'll Need:

Education. Bachelor's Degree preferred, relevant certifications preferred such as ATP (Airline Transport Pilot), annual FAA flight check, and annual training on safety equipment onboard the aircraft.

Technology Skills. Must have strong computer, technological, and operational skills to maintain aircraft, records, and all documentation required.

Communication Skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

General Requirements. Must be able to work sitting or standing for long periods of time. Must be available to work some holidays and weekends, and be available for work during all hours within any assigned duty period.
