Responsibilities

New York Tech's School of Architecture & Design seeks an Administrative Assistant to support the Endowed Chair for the School of Architecture and Design on the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide daily administrative support for the Endowed Chair, the programs under his supervision and his team (including a program director, faculty and students).
  • Act as liaison between students, faculty, and administrative departments (registrar, admissions, enrollment, student solutions, registrar, student solutions, advisement, etc.), as well as with partners, vendors and the public.
  • Provide support for the recruitment and advisement processes.
  • Purchasing, maintenance and budgetary tracking of office supplies, instructional and lab supplies, equipment, and computer software.
  • Develop and maintain efficient and confidential record-keeping and filing systems.
  • Supervise student workers including hiring and overseeing time sheets.
  • Assist with department and school events.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is preferred; comparable work experience may be considered instead of degree requirements.

Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook/Google Docs and willingness to learn other software.

Outstanding organizational computer, communication, writing/editing skills.

Working knowledge of social media is a must.

Excellent problem solver with good customer service orientation.

Must be professional and tactful in handling multiple projects with varying complexity.

Must be proactive and follow through on all tasks to completion, able to work independently and collaboratively and have a professional and positive demeanor.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

Minimum Salary
USD $41,000.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary
USD $43,000.00/Yr.
