Responsibilities

As a part of an institution-wide effort of strengthening physical science education, the Department of Physics at New York Institute of Technology invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the assistant-professor level, beginning in Fall 2024, with a potential for a one-year reappointment at either our Long Island or Manhattan campus.

The candidate is expected to teach 21 credit hours for the academic year. We seek candidates who are committed to teaching undergraduates from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, and in an interactive learning environment. The candidate will also be expected to mentor students regarding research and career aspirations. There is potential for research activity depending upon the focus.

Qualifications

PhD in physics or related field, is required, as is teaching experience at the undergraduate level or higher.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.

Minimum Salary
USD $75,000.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary
USD $80,000.00/Yr.
