Environmental Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Apply environmental expertise to a military civil engineering division to help plan and execute requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory environmental programs. Provide support to construction program managers to minimize risk to program cost, schedule, and performance by enhancing program environmental compliance. Apply specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Prepare, research, and review, environmental and technical documents, and reports to support the client's mission.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) Process
  • Experience with developing Environmental Assessments (EA), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), and Environmental Reviews (ER)
  • Experience with NEPA, natural, and cultural resources and policies
  • Experience with environmental planning, management, compliance, and law for planning purposes
  • Experience with SAF/IE Natural Resources and the Cultural Resources (NR/CR) Program authorized by the Sikes Act, the Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Historical Preservation Act (NHPA), Archaeological Resources and Protection Act (ARPA), Weapons Systems Pollution Prevention, and the Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD)
  • Ability to review externally produced documents, studies, or tools and provide recommendations and changes to reach compliance with those policies and regulations
  • Ability to conduct research, including environmental analyses and regulations
  • Ability to develop decision support documents to evaluate and facilitate all aspects of the NEPA process
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences

Additional Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in assessing compliance with NEPA regulations and legal precedents
  • 10+ years of experience in applying NEPA procedures, policy, and guidance
  • 5+ years of experience in scientific, engineering, or environmental disciplines relevant to environmental impact analyses
  • 5+ years of experience with developing recommendations for mitigation of adverse environmental impacts or measures to avoid confrontation or regulatory delays
  • Ability to organize and gather project data, conduct analysis, prepare reports, and provide recommendations without assistance
  • Ability to brief senior military leaders
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master's degree

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
