Carnegie Mellon University's department ofCivil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is searching for an Associate Sponsored Research Accountant to join their team. This entry level position will be responsible for supporting and assisting the department in executing post-award accounting activities within pre-established deadlines and guidelines.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the broad range of finance and administrative aspects of CEE faculty research and project account portfolios.

  • Establishing and monitoring research and project accounts in financial systems and excel.

  • Entering labor account charging information into Oracle/Workday and supporting certification of labor effort with documentation following department/College/University policy.

  • Processing related financial transactions for the department.

  • Disseminating information as needed.

  • Participating in selected CEE, University committees, and department meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

You should demonstrate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience

  • 1-3 years of sponsored research administration experience

Requirements:

  • Successful background check
