Description

We are seeking an Electrical Designer/Engineer for our office in New York, NY! This is a hybrid based position.

Overall Responsibility:TheElectrical Designer/Engineer will support the Office Manager in the achievement of the Company's short and long-term goals for operations, workforce planning, financial performance, and growth by establishing, promoting, and assuring high quality on all assigned projects. Supports the management of company processes, the technical quality of work product output, and coordination with office staff. Has support responsibility for the electrical engineering work on projects.

Essential Designer Functions:

  • Function as Project Engineer on assignments with electrical design scope and other disciplines.
  • Performs asset tagging and identification of equipment in field for various durations as determined by project needs.
  • Attends site surveys and contributes to engineering studies.
  • Performs electrical engineering studies and reports.
  • Ensures coordinated design on projects and the development of design drawings and specifications.
  • Reviews his/her drawings and technical specifications for quality and accuracy.
  • Provides support during the construction phase for shop drawing review and RFIs.
  • Attends and contributes to office, client, and project meetings.
  • Monitors his/her project production and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensures the quality of the work produced maintains high standards.
  • Performs technical and coordination check-review of project documentation and drawings.
  • Follows up on issues with design and production staff to assist in resolution of problems and concerns.

Secondary Functions:

  • Performs related work in support of senior staff and project teams as required.
  • Supports the interface with Arora Engineer offices to ensure the seamless delivery and integration.
  • Duties as assigned by Office Manager or Regional Director.
Qualifications

Education/Experience Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • EIT preferred / PE a plus.
  • LEED AP a plus.
  • Minimum of three to ten years' experience in a technical capacity reflecting increasing responsibility.
  • Aviation or transportation experience a plus.
  • Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Valid state driver's license (any in US).
  • In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.
  • Ability to meet worksite security requirements.

Needed Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit. MicroStation a plus.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, LEED and/or energy modeling a plus.
  • Knowledge of design-to-completion engineering processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and design packages.
  • Thorough knowledge of Company standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of QA/QC.
  • Exceptional communications skills.
  • Maintains discretion.
  • Ability to learn and become capable in HVAC software and applications within four months of hire.
  • Knowledge of codes specific to area of expertise.
  • Good communications and negotiations skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Company standards of quality.
  • Ability to multi-task and to prioritize tasks.
  • Detail and safety oriented.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to create and maintain productive relationships with employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Understanding of underlying principles of A/E industry.
